Certain types of genres tend to showcase what a console can do more than others. Personally, racing games have always been go-to’s for visual buffets. For its time, Driveclub showed how marvelous PS4 games could look on the system. Ever since Xbox One launched, Forza has brought remarkable visuals to life.
Whether you’re talking about Forza Motorsport or Forza Horizon, both brands look breathtaking on Xbox One. Insert Xbox One X and say hello to dramatically improved visuals. Many of you out there may not expect a third party game to deliver a truly maxed out Xbox One X experience.
I don’t expect that either. Its the first party games that will shine. To kick everything off, I’m fully expecting Forza Motorsport 7 to blow the lid off of Xbox One X capacity. Xbox’s head of operations Dave McCarthy spoke about how Forza Motorsport 7 runs on Xbox One X, as well as the breadth of games they showed at E3 2017.
“I think that for a racing simulation, like Forza Motorsport 7, it takes it to a whole new level. You [can almost] feel the heat coming off the cars and the weather effects are frighteningly real.
“You saw [that] in the diversity of game types we showed. We showed community games, indie games, triple-A games, games from around the globe. There are all these different types of games for different types of gamers now. It has never been more diverse,” McCarthy told MCV.
I can remember playing Forza Motorsport 6 and thinking how amazing the game looks. This brand has always been a visual showcase for Xbox One and I fully expect that trend to continue. Of all the upcoming Xbox One exclusives, Forza Motorsport is the most important in my mind. It is the one game that can truly show off Xbox One X right away and I think it will.
Xbox One X is going to release this coming Nov. 7 for the price of $499. Games like Crackdown 3 and Forza Motorsport 7 will be available at launch. Other great games will arrive on Nov. 7 and in the months after. Stick around here at We Write Things for more on Xbox One.
