Nintendo is officially onto something, as if you didn’t know that with the previous release of the NES Classic Edition. The re-release of the retro console saw gamers go crazy over the $60 blast from the past. They have decided to take the next step in their retro gaming process and this time it involves the Super NES.

Nintendo is confirming the upcoming release of the Super NES Classic Edition. The system will retail for the modest price of $79.99 and will include games like Super Mario WorldThe Legend of Zelda: A Link to the PastSuper Mario Kart and more. In total, this classic edition will launch with 21 games.

Super NES Classic Edition will launch on Sept. 29, but will only be sold through 2017. Nintendo is confirming that more inventory will be released for this retro console. That said, demand will likely surpass whatever supply Nintendo is planning on providing.

Super NES Classic Edition comes as a mini system, much like the NES Classic Edition. Super NES Classic Edition can plug into any HDTV through the HDMI insert on the device. Another surprise for gamers is they’ll receive Star Fox 2, a game that has never been released. This game was made during the Super NES era, but never saw the light of day. What a surprise indeed.

Gamers should keep a weather eye out for pre-orders popping up at retailers across the country. Demand will likely be crazy for the system, particularly when you consider Star Fox 2‘s debut. Nintendo’s Doug Bowser spoke about the news of Super NES Classic Edition.

“While many people from around the world consider the Super NES to be one of the greatest video game systems ever made, many of our younger fans never had a chance to play it. With the Super NES Classic Edition, new fans will be introduced to some of the best Nintendo games of all time, while longtime fans can relive some of their favorite retro classics with family and friends,” Bowser said.

Nintendo will release the new system at the end of September. The Super NES Classic Edition will come with one HDMI cable, one USB charging cable with AC adapter, plus two wired controllers.
