Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) and Monolith Productions are working on the next iteration in the popular Middle-earth franchise. Earlier this year, the two announced Shadow of War, the newest installment in the series. Middle-earth: Shadow of War arrives this August, but today it has an epic new trailer.

WBIE and Monolith have dropped a brand-new trailer for Shadow of War and it’s awesome. You can check out the new footage below. The new trailer showcases many of the environments gamers will encounter. It shows off the game’s beautiful shoreside city, snowy peaks and wet jungles.

Monolith is making a variety of changes to the Nemesis System in Shadow of War. The biggest change is the game’s emphasis on Nemesis Strongholds. This will take the game forward dramatically as gamers can assign allies to strongholds once they have been taken over.

The Nemesis System, as it relates to enemies, is back once more and looks to provide countless more hours of rival-creating fun. This feature was easily one of the biggest reasons why Shadow of Mordor won Game of the Year awards back in 2014. We’ll likely see more from Shadow of War at E3 2017.

Since WBIE doesn’t host a press conference, the publisher will likely show the game off during Microsoft’s press briefing. Xbox is the partner for the game’s marketing, so expect a major gameplay slice using Project Scoprio. Microsoft’s press briefing will take place on Sunday, June 11.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War will launch on Aug. 22 for PS4, PS4 Pro, Project Scorpio, Xbox One and PC. Stick around here at We Write Things for more on Shadow of War.
