Games continuously blur the lines between film and interactive entertainment. Whether it is interactive, reactive storytelling or it is creating a spin-off live-action trailer, gaming does it well.

Last year, Ubisoft created a series of videos for Tom Clancy’s The Division. These episodes gave insight into the world of The Division and served as a way to generate excitement. It seems as though Ubisoft is taking a similar approach with Ghost Recon Wildlands.

Today, the publisher revealed a teaser trailer for an upcoming 30-minute live-action video to help promote Ghost Recon Wildlands. Ubisoft is working with Amazon and Twitch to bring the clip to life. War Within The Cartel will debut on Feb. 16 and will showcase the Santa Blanca cartel. Next February, folks can view it on Ubisoft’s Twitch channel. Following that, the video will then be available on demand through Amazon Prime Video.

Actor and hip-hop artist T.I. will star as Marcus, who is a member of the Santa Blanca cartel. Tony Key, who is the senior vice president of sales and marketing for Ubisoft, spoke about today’s announcement.

“Ubisoft is committed to providing top-tier entertainment across the board, in games, movies and other media. War Within The Cartel adds even more depth to the already expansive world of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands and we are very excited to be working with Amazon, Twitch and Legion of Creatives on this project,” Key said in a press statement.

War Within The Cartel is under the direction of Avi Youabian. The scribes are Evan Greene, Noam Dromi and Ryan Landels. Producers on the project are Steve Ecclesine, Avi Youabian, Ryan Landels and Alex Barkaloff. Executive producers are Roberto Orci, Orlando Jones, Noam Dromi and Jay Williams.

Ken Taylor is making the artwork for the Steelbook. This is an Amazon-exclusive in the form of a Ghost Recon Wildlands: War Within The Cartel bundle. It will include a Season Pass for Wildlands as well as “a 10.5″ recreation of the in-game Santa Muerte figurine.”

Ubisoft will be releasing Ghost Recon Wildlands on March 7. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. A PS4 Pro version of the game is coming as well. Stick around here at We Write Things for more on Ghost Recon Wildlands.
