These days, one of the most important aspects of starting up a successful brewery is making sure your year-round offerings are up to snuff. Most breweries have a handful of brews they keep around for all 12 months out of each year, and California’s SLO Brew has named the four year round beers you can find at their brewery.

SLO Brew revealed that The Original (Blonde Ale), The Reggae Red (Red Wheat), The Wave Wrangler (Session IPA) and Cali-Weisse (Wheat) will all be year round selections for people looking for SLO beer. The company also stated that each of these ales will be released in 12-ounce cans, a growing trend among brewers in the industry.

The company also unveiled news that they have named a new brewmaster and his name is Steve Courier. Per the company’s release, Steve has been “a part of the SLO Brew family since 1997” and was working with both SLO Brew and Firestone Walker Brewing Co. prior to coming on full-time as brewmaster.

Rodney Cegelski, who is a co-owner of SLO Brew, spoke about the news of name Courier the brewmaster at SLO Brew. “We are excited to have Steve on board on a full- time basis and with the new brewery coming on line he’ll be busy. We will be focusing our production on cans at the new facility as we are confident that they are the best match for our target customer – easy to take to the beach, for tailgating or camping,  you can’t beat cans for portability, quality and sustainability,” Cegelski said.

The company is looking to expand its production to 2,500 barrels in its first year, and then doubling that with 5,000 barrels in its second year. As you’d expect with any brewery, specialty and seasonal beers will also be offered throughout each year.

SLO Brew has plenty of more information up on their website about each of their four year-round selections and what you can find in each. Stay tuned to We Drink Things for more news, reviews and info regarding the craft brewing industry.
